Roger founded the Independent Financial Advisory Company in 1973 when he joined the Pharos Insurance Broking Group. He negotiated the management buy out from that Group in 1986 and is the majority shareholder of Pharon.
Roger is very proud of his local roots having been born in the centre of Canterbury and educated at Simon Langton Grammar School.
Roger is a Chartered Financial Planner having obtained a Fellowship of the Chartered Insurance Institute in 1990.
Roger and his wife Claire have been married for over 48 years and their sons Andrew and Nicholas are both involved with Pharon.
In his spare time Roger has many hobbies but discussions seldom get past Bridge at which he is an avid player competing at both local and national level.
Nicholas is the Director responsible for client business transactions and is heavily involved with all of the company’s advisers and support staff to welcome new clients and maintain relationships with the existing clients. He joined Pharon in 1989 and has been involved in all aspects of the company’s business.
Nicholas is instrumental in the relationships that Pharon have with their Professional Colleagues and the range of Pharon’s Financial Planning arrangements.
Nicholas qualified to become a Chartered Financial Planner in 2009 and understands the importance of professional qualifications, constantly looking to increase the areas of his expertise.
On a personal front Nicholas lives just outside Canterbury with his partner Liann, has three children, enjoys music, reading and just about any competitive sport people will allow him to participate in. He has run several marathons and is always training for his next event.
Elizabeth is a Chartered Financial Planner and joined Pharon in 1996 becoming a Director in 2003. Prior to joining Pharon, Elizabeth held various roles within the Financial Advice industry including sales, marketing and compliance, so she has extensive knowledge of the industry in which Pharon operates.
Elizabeth’s main focus is providing support to the advisory team, maintaining the professionalism of advice provided to Pharon clients. It is also Elizabeth’s task to research the financial marketplace to ensure that Pharon’s clients have access to quality products and investments from the thousands available.
Elizabeth lives with her family in Canterbury and enjoys tennis, skiing, reading, and gardening.
David joined Pharon in 2001 having spent nine successful years working in the city of London with UBS. David’s expertise is in Investment Management and advises both individuals and businesses.
David holds the Diploma in Financial Planning and the Investment Management Certificate (IMC). He is continuing his studies and is working towards chartered status.
David has five young children and has lived in Canterbury for more than 30 years. He is an avid cricket fan, plays classical guitar and enjoys ancient history.
Ben has been working in the financial services industry since 2000, and with Pharon since 2004. He has qualified as a Chartered Financial Planner and is a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society, the highest qualification awarded by the Chartered Insurance Institute. He also holds the Investment Management Certificate (IMC).
Outside of work, he tries to keep himself active at the local gym, with varying degrees of success.
Richard joined Pharon in 2011 after completing a degree in Economics with Management. Richard is a member of Pharon’s advisory team providing advice to Pharon’s clients.
Richard is a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society and qualified Chartered Financial Planner.
Richard has lived in Canterbury for most of his life. In his spare time, Richard enjoys socialising and various sports, including cycling, football and golf.
James joined Pharon in 2014 having spent a number of years in pension management and personal finance.
James is a member of the advisory team holding the Diploma In Regulated Financial Planning and is working towards Chartered Status.
Outside of work, James is a keen gardener, badminton player, and walker and maintains an interest in all things scientific.
Robbie joined Pharon in 2007 after studying business management at university. Since joining Pharon he has continued studying industry exams and holds the Diploma in Financial Planning.
He has worked in various different roles at Pharon and is now the Finance Manager and part of the Pensions Team looking after Group Pensions.
Robbie lives in Canterbury and enjoys going to the theatre, listening to music, swimming and watching crime dramas.
Andrew joined Pharon in 1992, initially working as a member of client support before specialising in investment research. This included 15 years as a member of the fund selection committee for a Discretionary Portfolio Management and Fund of Funds provider.
Andrew is now Senior Investment Analyst and is a member of the team responsible for the provision of qualitative and quantitative research which is used to generate the company’s approved panel of investments.
Andrew lives just outside of Canterbury and when not transporting his musical and sporty family to events around the country is actively involved in historic rallying.
Sue has worked in the Financial Services industry since 1989, starting her career at a large Insurance Company and moving to the IFA sector in 1996. Sue joined Pharon in 2008 and works in a technical support role. She holds the Diploma in Financial Planning and continues to study towards Chartered Financial Planner Status.
Outside of work, Sue enjoys spending time with her family, cycling, reading and cooking.
